I am a Chicago-based screenwriter, producer and teacher. I am the winner of the 2017 Cassian Elwes Independent Screenwriting Fellowship and a semi-finalist in the 2018 Women in Film | Black List Features Lab. I earned a BA in English with a minor in political science from Indiana University, a JD from DePaul University College of Law and an MFA in screenwriting from DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts. I am a recovering attorney, having practiced intellectual property law in Chicago for thirteen years prior to becoming a full time writer and joining DePaul's School of Cinematic Arts as an adjunct professor of screenwriting. I am currently in pre-production on my modern romantic comedy, PLAIN JANE, and am developing several additional short and feature film projects that celebrate and promote diverse female voices and perspectives.
